GENTLE GIANT SAMPLE!
This is Charlie, my 4 year old chihuahua and my best friend. This past Wednesday, he took a dive off the back of our couch and dislocated his tarsal bone, tearing the tendons in his lower back leg. Due to this, even with a splint and time, he will not be able to support his weight on that leg without further damage, and so our vet has told me he would need tarsal arthrodesis to join two bones in his leg to create support for him to walk again. The splint is currently on him to prevent further damage to his leg but can not be kept on him longer than 2 months.
Asking for help from others is something that really took me to swallow my pride to do, but at this point I am desperate. So far I have about $1,000 for him but will need another $2,500 at least. My family wants me to put him down because they believe it is an exorbitant amount of money that I shouldn’t be “wasting” on a dog. Charlie is still as energetic and happy as ever despite the pain he is in and how difficult it is to get around; he is doing his best so that I won’t worry.
I’ve decided to do a mix of a donation drive and a giveaway, in which all money donated will go directly to Charlie’s surgery costs. I will be giving away my brand new medium Wacom Bamboo Tablet (worth $200) in a random drawing, the rules are:

Cynic Demos
I’ve been playing the hell out of the new Aeon Spoke collection which features both studio albums they put out and it got me thinking about how songs have changed from their demo versions, especially in regards to Cynic/Aeon Spoke.
Wow, I listened to the 1991 version of The Eagle Nature by Cynic, I actually prefer it to the version on Focus. While I love Paul’s vocoded vocals, the crazy instrumentation on the demo version really makes it stand out in a way that the Focus version does not.

I’m currently trying to transcribe the whole of this awesome song on drums, guitar and bass. This is my attempt at playing the opening solo, I know the last two notes are incorrect, I think I transcribed this at about 4am one night/morning. I need to refine my tone as well, all the covers I’ve recorded until now have used presets from Guitar Rig, but for this I’m creating a tone from scratch, using an emulated Orange amp (naturally).
If anyone would like to help with the transcription of Lazylady by Pentagram, let me know! I’m no expert by any means!
Anyway, more of this stuff to come!

I want to cover Flying Whales next! Another song I’ve been practising. I really should gather the courage to record vocals, my covers sound empty without them… If anyone else would like to cover vocals let me know :D
Figured out a work around for my FL Studio problem, so obvious I felt like an idiot for not solving it sooner!
Anyway, just recorded this cover of Vacuity by Gojira, been practising it for absolutely ages. I made a few mistakes so I may rerecord this at a later date. Most importantly I recorded this in the correct key! I finally got one of my other guitars out of storage, it’s tuned to drop C but it’s a pretty crappy guitar so it doesn’t sound as good as it should.
I recorded both guitar parts in two takes each, I couldn’t seem to get the tempo change right, it seems to come out of no where and I was playing without a metronome (for obvious reasons!) so I started a second recording going into that change. Still doesn’t sound good <_<
Anyway, enjoy! I want to record vocals for this at some point, that’ll be “fun”.
